Dear Betsy: 

In your absence, I spoke today with Natalie Lascar about our written

invitation to AIPAC (addressed to you and dated December 11, 2006), for a representative of AIPAC to speak at our conference scheduled for March 29-31 at the Alexandria Hilton. 

As you know, we are focusing on the Mearsheimer Paper and the book by Jimmy Carter and we looking for experts on both sides of the Israel/Palestinian conflict to comment on the accuracy of the facts presented in those two publications. 

Natalie, at first, apologized for the delay and said it would not be a

problem to locate someone who could participate in our conference; she said I would be contacted by that person today. 

Unfortunately, Natalie just called to say no one from AIPAC would be able available to participate in our conference. 

We are, of course, disappointed that we will not have the benefit of AIPAC's thinking on the subject. 

Maybe another time.
