UPDATE #9: CONTINENTAL CONGRESS 2009

Next Up: BBQ, Corn, Winter and Wind
(aka: Kansas City, Des Moines, Minneapolis & Chicago)

Ed. note
: This update regards the upcoming historic Continental Congress 2009 event to be held in Philadelphia directly across from Independence Hall.  As part of CC 2009, delegates selected by the People from each of the fifty states will convene to discuss the Government’s ongoing violations of the Constitution and strategies the People can employ to peaceably curtail the abuse.  Although these violations have been widely debated for years, it is the Government’s patent refusal to respond to any and all First Amendment Petitions for Redress that now compel the People to justly and actively resist the tyranny.

We strongly encourage our readers to review each of our
latest updates.  At a minimum, please be sure to read our “Summit Call and “Line in the Sand” web articles
which provide a good overview of the constitutional crisis and CC 2009 initiative.

WTP continues its cross-country Continental Congress 2009 promotional tour this week across the plains states of Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois.

After his Wednesday evening meeting in Denver, Bob Schulz speaks Thursday in Lenexa, Kansas; Friday in Des Moines, Iowa; Saturday in St. Paul, Minnesota; and Sunday in the Chicago suburb of Wheaton, Illinois. Next Monday, Schulz continues on to Michigan and points eastward before heading toward a series of southern regional meetings.

The meeting locations for the balance of this calendar week are noted below.  Please check the  meeting schedule page for additional local contact information and directions, as are available.

Remember, we are still seeking the assistance of local WTP supporters in arranging for venues for a number of cities in the second half of Schulz’s tour (check the meeting schedule).  Venue volunteers are encouraged to scout around for economically priced local hotel options or other businesses that can accommodate a moderate sized public meeting. Volunteers are encouraged to first contact Bob Schulz directly via email at bob@givemeliberty.org and as necessary via cell at (518) 361-8153.  Schulz again offers his sincere thanks to all that have pitched in to the make the tour a decisive success thus far.

We also continue to encourage all supporters of the CC 2009 initiative to contact their local media to arrange advance radio and print interviews for Bob Schulz by using our
Continental Congress 2009 promotional flyers, our (modifiable) Press Release and our online media locator tool. Ideally, media interviews should be scheduled within a day or two of the local event.  This is an unfolding story of profound historical importance that media entities - and their consumers - should have significant interest in.

Support Needs Remain

Finally, we wish to again, humbly ask for your financial support for this bold, historic undertaking.  Not since our Founders concluded their original work in the defense of Liberty over two centuries ago have the People moved as an organized body to openly discuss the injuries of tyrannical governance that they confronted and to debate the means by which such government servants might once again be held accountable by the People for their errant acts.

We need your support not only to fund the immediate, direct costs of hosting the event in Philadelphia, but the financial means to procure, produce and broadcast the media communications necessary to bring this event into the full consciousness of the American public.  We again, thank you for your
generous support. Please remember that donations to the not-for-profit WTP Foundation For Constitutional Education are fully tax deductible.
